William S. Boyd has served as a director of the Company since its inception in June 1988 and as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since August 1988. A co-founder of California Hotel and Casino, Mr. Boyd has served as a director and President of that company since its inception in 1973 and has also held several other offices with that company. Prior to joining California Hotel and Casino, Mr. Boyd practiced law in Las Vegas for 15 years. Between 1970 and 1974 he also was Secretary, Treasurer and a member of the board of directors of the Union Plaza Hotel and Casino. Mr. Boyd has served as Vice Chairman of the board of directors of the American Gaming Association, and he had served on the board of directors and as President of the National Center for Responsible Gaming for ten years. Mr. Boyd also serves on the board of directors of Western Alliance Bancorporation. Mr. Boyd is the father of William R.
