I assemble and manage project teams to prepare environmental impact statements (EISs) and assessments (EAs) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). I also serve on teams as a NEPA and natural resource task leader. As a Certified Wildlife Biologist , I prepare consultation documents under the Endangered Species Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Most of my work involves projects proposed on rural and natural resource lands, including public lands private forest, crop and range lands and marine and freshwater shorelines. Since managing my first NEPA EIS for Crater Lake National Park in , my career has taken me throughout my home region of the Pacific Northwest, as well as Alaska, California, the Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Islands and the US Inter-mountain West. Major industry sectors I have worked with include energy (electrical transmission, wind, pipelines) parks, recreation and natural areas management forestry mining maritime Federal agencies I have worked with include National Park Service US Fish and Wildlife Service Bureau of Reclamation BLM US Forest Service US Army Corps of Engineers Bonneville Power Administration Nuclear Regulatory Commission FERC FHWA FAA I named my consulting practice "Point" because I feel that environmental documents often fail to get to the critical points at hand. The company's motto is clear and to the point. Constantly striving toward this standard, I take an issue-based approach to environmental impact assessment by clearly defining the questions at hand before delving into the assessment. I believe that issues serve to focus writers and readers alike, increasing both the efficiency and the effectiveness of environmental documentation. read more ...
