I was born in Veracruz, Mexico from a German-Zapotec mother and a Caucasian father. I learned to speak Spanish and English at the same time. Most of my youth I went to an all girls catholic school. I started drawing at an early age I had no talent for music (playing the piano was torture, I guess because I would have liked a keytar better) and the same with dancing. Deep inside I was more of a tomboy with a liking for boys toys. I remember spending hours looking at art history books and books from my mother's travels to Europa.I fell in love with Egyptian sculpture and renaissance painting as well as the impressionists. I wanted to possess their work so badly that I tried to copy it in order to have a piece for myself- that's how I started drawing.Walt Disney was also a strong influence. In the late 's in Mexico we did not get as much Disney 'stuff'so I used to draw my own characters with outfit variations and so on as a way of playing.
