I used to surf but had to have knee surgery so I started thinking of what I could do to get back into the ocean I love. Bodysurfing with a wetsuit sucks because the water goes up the sleeve and slows you down. This got me thinking about making a board that attaches to your hand and creates a planing surface an keeps the water from going up your wetsuit. I made some hand paddles. They were kinda funky and heavy cause I glassed the whole thing. They also made my arms tired, holding up all my weight with my hands. I then started expanding the board up to my elbow so I could lean on it and not have to hold up the increased pressure with just my hand. My next step was concaves and finally channels Channels totally changed everything. They actually create speed and I found myself making it out the end of some pretty sweet barrels
