In September of 2010 I was 33 years old, single, jobless, broke, drunk, and I was dying. On October 14th 2010 I drank what is still my last beer; then the real fun started. This a somewhat scattered look into the rebuilding of a shattered life. This is my story in almost real time.I have now been sober for 1 year and 3 days, or 368 days in a row. If you had told me when I was 27 that I would ever be sober for this long I would have asked you who you supposed the father was to be. I couldn't have fathomed it otherwise. Coming to grips with being an addict was about 3/4 of the battle that got me here. I've been told by qualified folks that I'm doing remarkably well for having overdosed and lost everything just one year ago. I'm not sure what I think about that but OK. Maybe I should have told them that it turns out I'm still a little metal head. Wonder what they would have said then. I'm no longer frightenend (or ugly) and I'm ready to take the world by storm bit by bit. I'm not sure when it happened in truth; but I think I've joined the winning team. Thanks for Playing. 10/17/2011 Location Undisclosed
