I remember when my dad bought our family's first computer. I was really young and had never heard of a computer before. So, when my dad told me there was a mouse inside the box, I screamed and ran away. Fast forward to the summer after sixth grade and I was using that mouse to create beautiful graphics. This was when I had discovered Adobe Photoshop. I spent that whole summer exploring the world that is Photoshop and graphic design. Growing up with the Internet allowed for me to experiment with web design. Xanga and MySpace provided me with the opportunity to learn HTML and create my own layouts. I knew I had an aptitude for web design when I could spell out HTML code to my friends over the phone while away from the computer. What was once just a hobby growing up is now my passion in life. I received an education from both Illinois Central College and Bradley University. Through my studies I have become a jack-of-all-trades by expanding my skills to include typography, video editing and compositing, audio, and photography in addition to graphic and web design. My three graphic design internships have allowed me to become familiar with designing for a professional organization and utilizing branding standards. I have also gained an understanding of how to communicate with third-party printing companies to ensure that our materials were produced accurately.
