Photographer and journalist. Recently completed my MA in journalism at UT Austin, reporting on the experience of LGB people coming out to family, and the resulting shift in family relationships. The report also proposed a multimedia concept, The Outcomes Project, designed as a resource for parents and families of LGBTQ people. Site still very alpha, and more interviews are coming; if you're interested in participating, there's a form for that. Other focuses include web development, design work and iPhone application development. Worked in a technical capacity on Donna DeCesare's website on gangs and the aftermath of war, Destiny's Children, which launched last year. Currently in El Salvador, assisting Ms. DeCesare with a series of photo workshops for university students and barrio youth.  Created TweetSheet, an innovative iPhone and iPad app for backing up and searching your Twitter history, and SmokeBreak, a free iPhone and Android app for tracking your smoking habit. Currently pending release: Dictapad, an iPad app developed in-house to aid in transcribing interviews. Also participated in the News21 Initiative at the University of Maryland's Merrill College of Journalism, where I developed an interactive Flash interface for telling complex stories through video, stills, data and maps. I don't necessarily know what the future holds for this profession; but I have a few ideas, and I've got time.
