I'm a Philly-based writer, editor, photographer and digital media specialist. I'm currently the Associate Editor at Fast Company's FastCoLabs, where I focus on the future of music, the intersection of tech media and the people building it all. I also sometimes do more general coverage of technology and design for FastCoDesign and FastCompany.com, as well as some occasional freelance writing about music and local happenings in Philadelphia. I've also written for ReadWrite, Billboard, VICE's Creators Project, Esquire, Philadelphia Weekly and a variety of other publications, as well as a few textbooks and anthologies. Before becoming a full-time writer and editor, I managed digital publishing for Review Publishing, a weekly newspaper publishing company based in Philadelphia. I also occasionally teach, having most recently taught a course in digital design for journalists at Temple University. When I'm not geeking out about tech and the future of media, I'm drumming in a psychedelickrautrockshoegaze noise rock band, playing with synthesizers, exploring cities or Instagramming my bow tie-wearing cat, Walter.
