The basics... Who I am I'm a biologist working in the DC area. I grew up in the Appalachian Mountains and they're one of my favorite photography subjects. What I use to shoot I used to only shoot with a Sony Cybershot (anything before December ). Recently I've upgraded to a Nikon D and am having a great time learning Not so basics... My life In a nutshell, I'm just someone who likes to get out and have a good time. I can be happy exploring a city or hiking up a mountain- I'm pretty versatile. I love challenges both the physical and mental types. This kind of makes me unpredictable- one moment I'm the smart mouth girl trying to hang with the guys and the next I'm baking cookies. I've been able to share it all with some amazing people and they've really gotten me through a lot. Life is crazy, and I love embracing every waking moment of it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. More about my photos My inspirations are usually some whim of the day I've come across. Creative moments come in little bursts for me they kind of work their way in between technical concepts. I show a great favoritism towards nature (as can be seen in my photostream) but am branching out into portraits and other subjects. Photography is pretty new for me and a hobby that I squeeze around a job and whatever random thing I'm up to this week, so bear with me and some of my editing experimentation. I am a science person, so I've never had much coaching. Once again, life brings the good, the bad, and the ugly sometimes...
