Jason Becker is a freelance editor, assistant editor designer currently based in Chicago. A native midwesterner, he earned a BFA in Fine Art from Northern Illinois University and a BA in Post-Production from Columbia College Chicago. Skilled in multiple aspects of the post-production process, from on-set asset management through to finishing, Jason is an attentive, hard-working and organized individual. In addition to his unique creative and visual sensibilities, Jason brings his technical foundation to all his projects. Experienced in numerous tape- and file-based workflows he has a working-knowledge of the machine room, SD and HD decks, video codecs and various post-production applications. Jason has also tutored and instructed workshops on editing, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Pro X to foundations- and entry-level students at Columbia College Chicago. Specialties Experience in both tape- file-based workflows. Proficient in Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro Adobe Premiere Pro. Highly-visual with a distinguished designer's eye and sense of storytelling.
