I earned my Chartered Accountant designation in and then went on to complete my PhD in Accounting (University of Waterloo, ) and a Masters degree in Education (UBC, ). I am involved in the CPA profession at the national and provincial level, particularly focused on accounting education. I am currently a council member for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and an associate editor for Issues in Accounting Education. My prior experience includes being the Chair of the CICA Competency Map Committee, Chair of the Education Committee of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, and vice-Chair of the BC CA Education Foundation. I am currently a board member of the Kelowna branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) as well as a board member for the BC division of the CMHA. My goal, as lofty as it may be, is to improve the quality of accounting education in Canada.
