Darlene began her travel career years ago after she completed an extensive course at Surry Community College in Dobson, NC. She graduated from the travel program in . Her first position as a travel agent was selling vacation travel, which included cruises and tours as well as corporate travel and airline reservations. In Darlene decided to open her own agency, Professional Travel Planner. She was employed by two other agencies before starting her own company, Mount Airy Travel and Accent Professional Travel, both agencies in Mount Airy, NC. Her electronic booking experience platform was Sabre and Amadeus. Her vast experience includes making airline, hotel, car rental reservations and ticketing transactions. Darlene also has worked with selling and ticketing large and small groups during her career. Darlene now owns and operates the Blue Ridge Manor Bed and Breakfast and uses her travel skills to plan trips and excursions for her guest during their stay. In addition to the bed and breakfast, she still runs a full service travel agency
