I have been practicing law in Colorado since . First, while in the USAF, as an Active Duty Judge Advocate, then later with the Office of the Area Defense Counsel at Peterson AFB. During my time there, I defended officers, enlisted men and cadets on charges ranging from sexual assault, drug crimes, DUI and theft to disrespect towards a superior officer and failure to obey a lawful order. When I left active duty, I remained in the reserves and accepted a position as Deputy District Attorney at the El Paso County District Attorney's Office. In my capacity as a deputy district attorney, I prosecuted cases ranging from DUI to homicide. In I started my private criminal defense practice in Colorado Springs, CO, now The Bussey Law Firm, P.C.
