I'm a creative and award-winning digital media leader. I love to nurture collaboration, creativity and great work, and I am expert at getting startups and digital product launches up and off the ground, then keeping them growing and humming. I launched my career as a newspaper reporter covering everything from police shootouts in the suburbs to an inner-city minister with a -foot pet python named Satan. After moving to the Dallas Morning News as a senior writer, I took in all things Texas barbecueTex-Mexmargaritas, ranch wear, lakes named after men with two first names, rodeo preachers, and an interview with then-Gov. George W. Bush. I was drawn early to the web, however -- so in I moved to New York to help create a pioneering startup, Beliefnet.com. That adventure launched me into all kinds of experiences, from live on-camera appearances on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News Channel to later digital positions at Time Inc, Readers Digest and CNBC to dabbling in new digital startups. In addition to The Dallas Morning News, Beliefnet, and CNBC, my work has appeared in the Huffington Post, The New York Times Week in Review, and Slate, among other publications and books. I continue my curiosity about pretty much everything and am blessed I can play a small part in the ongoing effort to re-imagine and renew media in this digital world of ours.
