While in NY working as Manager of A&R for Island Def Jam, Big Billy Clark got an offer to tour manage Hoobastank. At this point Clark was leaving his A&R post at Island Def Jam where he worked for 9 years including running the west coast office for 4 years. Big Billy Clark, who always has great relationships with all the artists he works with, jumped at the opp and within days hit the road with the band. A year later Grammy-nominated singer and actress Christina Milian, whose breakthrough single (“Dip It Lowâ€) was found by Clark, reached out to him to be her tour manager for an international tour in Germany, France, and Japan, and later included a run on Usher and Kanye West’s “The Truth Tour.†By January 2005, Clark now had under his belt 9 years experience as an A&R executive at the most successful urban label, Island Def Jam, as well as 2 years of successfully Tour Managing multiple artists at the height of their music careers. During this time multiple labels pursued him, but he decided to form Arketekt Ent./Mgmnt. Less than a month later, Clark had signed numerous producers, songwriters, artists, models and actors. Clark then received a phone call from Atlantic Records president Craig Kallman who ultimately brought Clark inside as A&R. Big Billy Clark then had the opportunity to work on multiple Atlantic projects including singer / actress Keke Palmer. In June 2006, Clark was named Sr. Dir. of A&R for Sony BMG. In his bi-coastal role, he was responsible for signing new artists as well as help finish records for the labels roster. Now Clark runs his company Arketekt,as well as running Beets & Produce, Inc.
