Erick is an artist, an engineer and entrepreneur as founder of Vergence Labs, makers of Epiphany Eyewear smart glasses he works to build, serve and empower the team, guide the company vision, develop product, and build the business into a successful company. Erick has over a decade of experience in high-end content creation with computer graphics and visual effects, working on multiple block-buster films. Erick has managed several teams of engineers, technical directors and project managers to complete work on several million dollar blockbuster feature films. Hes written various complex software systems, holds several patents, has authored a number of books and taught numerous Master Classes on Hyper-Reality. Miller has an undergrad in computer graphics (D Animation) and two Master's degrees, one from UCLA Anderson and one studying abroad in Asia at the National University of Singapore. He has served on several review boards, including Autodesks CTO council, the ACMs unified jury where hes been a Siggraph Session Chair, and has represented Vergence Labs at the first ever TEDxStanford. He has led technical direction on Clio nominated digital effects and in was shortlisted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a Sci-Tech Academy Award along with Weta Digital and several others, for a muscle and skin software simulation system he wrote and patented while at Sony in . Over the last decade, Erick has been invited and has spoken to large audiences across the globe including presentations covering iRobot in Japan topics covering Hyper-Reality in Paris and master classes on programming in Australia and Santa Barbara. Erick has spoken across the US as a session chair and sketch speaker for the Association of Computing Machinery's Siggraph conference on the topic of computer graphics, film making and digital characters. He will be a speaker at the upcoming SXSW on a panel covering wearable technology and the future of content.
