Long accused of knowing "everyone" by many business associates and friends, I studied how connectors developed relationships. The most common threads I found dealt with strategic thinking, consciousness of the surrounding environment, and planning related to building confidence. Two other things became apparent to me. Many leaders in companies and service-related firms, outside of sales and marketing areas, still had marketing and sales responsibilities. Second, I recognized the enormous impact one individual can have on the positive or negative reputation of their business. With my passion for connecting people, I positioned my firm to help established and emerging leaders build their own personal brand--reputation in parallel to their company's/firm's branding; improve their strategic relationship development skills to generate business development opportunities; enhance existing client relationships; and advance their advance careers.
