Throughout the course of my studies at UNBSJ I gained practical business experience early on as a Co-Op student. I worked for three local companies in a different area each time, gaining diverse experience. My first work-term placement was as a Business Analyst on a Process Improvement team for RST Industries (Irving Transportation ) company, where I acquired advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Visio and knowledge of key business practices such as: Project management and tracking, Six Sigma, LEAN and 5S practices, presenting status reports and projects to management, and compiling and presenting weekly truck statistics reports. I was also responsible for tracking several self-directed savings/process improvement projects. In my second work-term I was a Research Analyst with the Provincial Government in the Department of Energy. As part the Business Development and Alternative Energy team, my my core focus was to build a CRM Database of stakeholders who play a role in developing NB into an Energy Hub. My final project was a searchable database constructed with MS Visio , which allowed DOE users to search contacts by industry, project, name and company. I was also responsible for updating a price chart showing home heating, electricity and gasoline(pump) prices. At the end of the term I managed a team of people to assist with printing and mail preparation of several thousand home-heating program packages for those in need. Presently I work with Enovex, a recent start-up specializing in Sustainability Consulting and reporting. My role is to design and write reports as well as create and maintain branding and marketing materials. I hold a diploma in Graphic design and Digital Media, and occasionally do freelance design and photography.
