I am a Public Relations student at the University of Georgia Grady School of Journalism. I am looking forward to expanding my skill set both inside and outside the classroom. Presently, I am looking to gain additional experience in event planning, promotion, product development, and communications, especially in the area of social media. I am the public relations and social media intern to the authors of The Most Powerful Brand on Earth. In order to increase sales, I am promoting the book to press and target groups via social media, writing blog posts that discuss book content and cover author speaking events, and researching speaking opportunities. Additionally, I monitor relevant social media conversation related to book content in order to provide authors with engagement opportunities across social web. I have ensured the success of numerous events by initiating contact with event managers in order to propose events, performed pre-production research and event promotion planning. I have written, distributed and promoted press releases other promotional materials to drive ticket sales through various social media outlets, such as Songkick and Facebook. I also have experience with promoting products, primarily music albums. In order to raise awareness for an upcoming release, I have experience with advance copy distribution to important influential buyers and promoters that has resulted in increased sales. After an album is released, I have researched the product reviews and created press opportunities to drive additional sales across various communications mediums. My proven track record has shown that strong communication between clients and company is key to the success of any event or product. I have demonstrated that social media is an excellent way to decentralize information and encourage communication, networking and advocacy.
