A managing partner in the management consulting firm SchafferCombs, James has a deep background in both the nonprofit and business communities. He has led innovative nonprofits, built a business as a private sector entrepreneur, and developed strategy, programs, and fundraising solutions for organizations as a senior executive, board member, and consultant. Since beginning his career at the management consulting firm McKinsey Company, and then running his own business, James has been involved in the education space since as a Program Director, Development Director, Vice President Programs, and Chief Advancement Officer for organizations such as the Junior Statesmen, BizWorld, and KIPP foundations. A graduate of Princeton University, James is also a co-founder of Knowmia, a Y Combinatot education technology platform focused on video lesson sharing, and SocialTransactions, an online fundraising tool for nonprofits linking supporters' web shopping to donations to their favorite charity.
