Jennifer is a Cognitive Research Scientist and Senior Consultant on the Research and Learning teams at TiERPerformance Solutions. She supports innovative research initiatives and is the company lead for immersive learning environments and gamification, integrating emerging technologies, learning sciences and instructional design for use in government and commercial markets. She is the company lead for data analytics and research design and uses multiple quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches to evaluate and refine the performance and implementation of learning solutions. Additionally, she supports the learning team with the design, development and delivery of client solutions. Jennifer studies visual learning and memory within immersive participatory games and simulations and has conducted research on collaborative problem solving and complex systems understanding with games and simulations. She has designed and taught courses in Trans-disciplinary Collaboration Inquiry to Innovation, STEM Education Seminar, Educational Technology, Social, Legal Ethical Issues in Educational Technology, Game Design, and Museums in Education. With a background in neuropsychology, visual design, education and instructional technology, Jennifer's passion is designing, developing and studying immersive learning environments that harness the unique affordances of cutting edge technologies, while being grounded in sound cognitive and pedagogical design. Jennifer hold Bachelor's (psychology), Master's (Curriculum Instruction), and a Doctorate of Philosophy (EducationInstructional Technology) all from the University of Virginia.
