I graduated from the University of Central Missouri in May with a B.S. in public relations and chose to continue my education by pursuing a master's degree (M.A.) in mass communication to further develop my skill set. I study communication because I believe life becomes meaningful when our stories interact and intersect with others' stories. Every message, every day, elicits some effect on the world. As a professional I know how to use a variety of communication channels to create engaging environments with specific publics as well as large audiences to achieve desired goals. I have the ability to problem solve, develop strategies, execute projects and return with results that demonstrate a return on investment. I am a highly organized and creative self-starter. I believe that public relations requires passion and drive. The phrase in my industry should be switched from "I work in public relations" to "I work for something in which I believe."
