Katherine McCarthy is an experienced healthcare professional with more than ten years of industry experience. She has been published for her work on care transitions, presented at national conferences, and is an industry expert on practice management, healthcare reform, healthcare IT (HIT) adoption and HIT competitive intelligence. Her research interests include Healthcare Reform, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), care transitions, innovative ways to measure and deliver quality care across the care continuum, and leveraging HIT as a tool for success. Ms. McCarthy is currently a Corporate Manager in Business Planning at Partners Healthcare where she is responsible for supporting strategic and financial initiatives across Partners and its entities, notably Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's hospitals. Previously, she worked as a consultant to healthcare providers across the continental U.S. and Canada managing strategic relationships, business development and consulting with internal and external stakeholders on healthcare reform, industry trends, and improving profitability and clinical quality. Ms. McCarthy has had demonstrated success working with hospitals, health systems, physician practices and other sub-acute healthcare providers to help maximize revenue streams and improve clinical outcomes through a balance of technology and operational solutions. In addition to her work with clients, Ms. McCarthy has served on company management teams and has been a key contributor to strategic planning and business growth in both the public and private sectors. A swimmer herself, Ms. McCarthy was formerly a licensed Level III coach with United States Swimming who developed injury prevention strategies in conjunction with world renowned sports medicine physicians.
