I'm an investigative journalist who was part of a team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. I have specialized in multimedia projects and reported on issues involving politics, immigration, crime, corruption and government in the United States, Mexico and Central America. I've also taught journalism at the University of Southern California and worked as a consultant for the U.S. Department of State teaching digital journalism and social media to reporters in Palestine, Paraguay and the Bahamas. I'm currently blogging for L.A. Now, the breaking-news blog of the L.A. Times.
