I was born and raised in Montana, and I journeyed to Boston for college, then Washington, D.C. to start my career. I've always wanted to help other people in some way or another, and so I majored in Clinical Psychology, but decided to go into the field of education after college instead of becoming a therapist. As the years went by, I realized my interests and talent lay primarily in the field of communications, particularly in activating networks of people to advance an organization's mission. That's when I found the Georgetown University Masters in Professional Studies program in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. The program is unique in that not only is all the coursework practical and hands-on, but the program focuses on using the power of communications to make a positive difference in the world. I have been a projectprogram manager for seven years, a supervisor for over five years, and I've received nearly hours of training to develop my leadership skills. I have a fastidious dedication to clear, concise, and persuasive writing using evaluation data to make sure programs are working and ensuring everything I do is relevant to the bigger picture. I excel at piloting projects and redesigning programs from the ground up, as well as facilitating the connections between internal and external stakeholders to make true collaboration possible.
