My name is Christine. I am a transplanted Tejana queer Femme living in the great state of California, San Leandro to be exact. I work as a technogeek gawdess by day. And at night....I run a nightclub called Velvet (www.velvetoakland.com). I have a deep and sincere love for my community whether it be the Butch/Femme, Femme, LGBT or Latino community. I am an activist at heart and a true believer in bringing all types of people together. I am one of the co-founders of the Femme Collective and the Conference Co-Chair of Femme2010 (www.femmecollective.com). I was the Conference Coordinator for Femme2006 and currently conference co-chair of the Femmes of Color Symposium happening in New Orleans in 2010. I am, proudly, one of the co-owners of one of the largest and oldest genderqueer websites on the internet Butch-Femme.com. I believe in many things, but mostly I believe in the magic of life and people. I live deeply and with intention. I am all at once, powerful and weak, fearless and afraid, whole and broken, open and shutdown, brilliant and dull. I revel in the contradiction of myself, others and the world. I want all life has to offer... and then some.
