Soprano, Jennifer Russo is quickly establishing herself as a young singer to watch. Russo recently came off of a busy summer season with the Bay Area Sumer Opera Theater Institute in San Francisco, California. While at BASOTI, she performed the role of Alice Ford in Falstaff and sang the roles of Leonore and Suzel in scenes from Fidelio and Lamico Fritz, respectively. In April, she made her company debut with Garden State Opera in New Jersey as Celidora in the little known and well beloved comic Mozart opera, L'oca del Cairo. Last summer, she was a Young Artist at the Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan where she sang the role of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and was praised for her dramatic, sane and stoic portrayal of the unrequited lover. Russo completed her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at New England Conservatory in . While a student there, she sang the title role inDido and Aeneas and was the soprano soloist in Saint-Sans' Oratorio de Nol at the conservatory's famed Jordan Hall. She also sang the roles of Mrs. Grose (Turn of the Screw), Lady with a Cakebox (Postcard from Morocco), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), the Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier) and Micala (Carmen) in numerous scenes programs. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology from The George Washington University where she served as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
