I have an inexhaustible fascination with the way culture and technology interact, a passion for the natural world, and I take great joy in facilitating meaningful learning and effective communication. A few years ago I started work on a Ph.D. and will defend my dissertation (rhetoricalethnographic research on how "nature" is represented in virtual worlds) in Spring . I'm also working on an invited book chapter about transmedia environmental narratives and continue to explore the instructional affordances of MUVEs -- as well as the cultural impact of virtual worlds, augmented reality, and other related new media. Longer term, I'd love to continue working with faculty, conducting research, and teaching students. Skillset - Qualitative and quantitative research - Consultations and workshops in instructional design technology, specializing in new media, including multiuser virtual environments and web . -
