In February of 2010 I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I was overweight and out of shape. I was 5'8" and weighted about 225 lbs. My major sin is that I love to eat and drink and I love to eat and drink with people who love to eat and drink. I never met a pizza I didn't like. From that doctor's visit, I had to change, as in overnight. I was a cardiovascular time bomb waiting to go off. Blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol and exercise habits all bad. Once upon a time I was a slim, trim 150 lbs. That is what I want to be again. To borrow from Dave Berry, this my public chronicle of how I will stay fit and healthy until I die.
