My first love is music (listening and playing), although I love many things...experiencing different cultures is another, no matter if its pleasant or uncomfortable. I have played the bass for some time now (13 years)...I have always played the bass (i.e. not a transplanted guitarist). Jazz and blues are what I learned technique and theory from, but I play all sorts, mostly experimenting with rock. I have never been a professional musician, since my personality makes it difficult for me to settle into doing only one thing. More often than not, I am working on several different things at once. I just finished composing a soundtrack (alongside my longtime friend and musical collaborator, Daniel Ormond) for an independent film that debuts on May 6th, 2006 at the University of Southern California. I also work as a Forest Ranger in the rural countryside of western Kentucky. This is beginning to change as I have made plans to move to Chicago at the end of this summer. I will be attending Dominican University in River Forest, IL for my Master of Library Science. I am interested in acquisition and preservation of rare and antiquarian books and manuscripts. I'm sure I'll find other extracurricular projects...I usually do.
