I work in IT but not for a technology company. I work for a company that protects dreams. The insurance industry is built on two fundamental values - trust and service. I have the good fortune to work for a company that takes great pride in clearly articulating those values and what our brand stands for. I believe that IT should also be focused on those same two values. Technology professionals bring to life customer experiences through our understanding of what it means to make good on our promises. My career has been split evenly between business administration and technology support. At the present time I am a Change and Configuration Management practitioner. That means I safeguard our business services by properly understanding and managing the changes we introduce into our technology infrastructure. I became involved with ITIL and IT Service Management as an internal IT consultant and business analyst. ITIL really shed light on many of the service issues my clients were experiencing. I have helped us develop a commitment to Service Management that has allowed us to address many of those issues and make significant improvements in system availability. My work in IS Service Management has helped change perspectives from being IT-focused to being business-focused. I am a firm believer in the strategic value of IT Service Management and I am committed to helping my organization and others instill a culture of ITIL-based processes that solve everyday business challenges. I'm an ITIL Expert and an FLMI. I have a BA in Biological Science from Indiana University and an MBA from St. Mary's College of California where I graduated with honors.
