The Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF) is an academic research center based at the Bloomberg School of Public Health that investigates the interconnections among food systems, public health, and the environment. My research is situated at the intersection of food systems and health care, and how investments in food system change by health care payers and providers could improve population health outcomes and lower per-capita health care costs. Additionally, I currently lead many of CLF's advocacy initiatives to limit the use of antibiotics in food animal production. This work includes analyzing the public health impacts of public policy, developing evidence-based recommendations, representing CLF to elected officials and regulatory agencies, the media, and advocacy organizations, and translating scientific evidence for policymakers and advocates.
