William Stanek lives. My military experience with advanced technologies, servers and mainframes, helped me launch a career as a technologist. My first tech book, Electronic Publishing Unleashed, defined electronic and digital publishing for readers all over the world. In that book, published in 1995 (and written in 1994), I wrote about publishing Internet magazines, newspapers and electronic books. My own Internet Daily News (archive at http://www.tvpress.com/idn) was one of the first daily Internet newspapers. The sequel to that book, Web Publishing Unleashed, was a blockbuster and one of the early seminal books on the topic of Web publishing. In 1998, I had the opportunity to put my extensive skills in technology, training and administration to work developing a new series for Microsoft. The result of that long effort was a little book called Windows NT 4.0 Administrator’s Pocket Consultant, which was published in 1999. In that book, I did everything different and readers seemed to truly appreciate the tremendous effort it took to create such a highly-focused book. Looking at the books I’ve written since, it’s pretty clear I became a specialist in this area, especially with regard to Windows and Servers. My goal in every project I work on is to deliver highly readable, engaging, technically accurate, and useful information that is written in a clear, concise and no-nonsense approach. I'm also available for consulting work, in all areas of Windows and Server technologies that I write about. Currently, I’m working extensively with new media, e-books and digital technologies as an expert consultant and professional. Specialties Windows, Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, XML, Web, Cloud Services, Windows Azure
