He is the son of Jack and Carolyn French. Dan has lived in Beekman since he was seven years old. His father was a union painter who decided to move to the Hudson Valley for a chance to provide a better life for his children. His father, Jack, was a long time Beekman Recreation Commissioner, Beekman youth soccer and little league coach, soccer referee and baseball umpire. The Town of Beekman posthumously honored Jack as the first inductee into the Jack French Beekman Recreation Memorial Hall of Fame.Dan attended Beekman Elementary School, and graduated from Arlington High School in 1999.
